Announcing the NEW!

Hi Everyone! This Brian Feister (of DreamStar Studios), and while I’m not the author of the content that you’re hoping to read (that is, all exciting updates about Anasma and her touring schedule and updates from the road), I did all of the creative, graphic, coding, and other technical work that has gone into this website.

One of my favorite aspects of this project has been the unique visual treatment that we gave to each individual page. Each one features a different background image which was manipulated “by hand” in Photoshop. Some of these images took up to 20 hours to complete as I worked carefully on all the details in Photoshop.

This project has been the most involved website that I have produced to date. When I say involved, I mean that it is extremeley intricate from a technical standpoint. It is multi-lingual, easily updatable, and has so many automated / “moving parts” that if I started to list them you would get tired of reading all of geeky tech talk.

Aside from all those details, what I primarily want to do is say “Welcome, we’re glad you’re here!” and give you some suggestions about how you, as a friend, family member, or fan can help Anasma out and make her new website a success. This website is a place for you! This is the place to keep up with what is happening with Anasma and also offer your encouragement and support. The more often you check here and the more often you comment on her events, blogs, etc. and interact with this online community the more you will help her to become “visible” on the web.

The more people who visit a website, the more visible it becomes to search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing. This means that as her friend, you can help her out simply by checking back frequently for updates and using the site to stay involved and informed about her life and career.

One of my greatest hopes is that the amount of time, careful attention to detail, and love that I have poured into the process of creating this website will result in a greater degree of success for Anamsa! incorporates a modern web technology called an “RSS feed” which is maintained and updated by automatically when she posts a new event or journal entry. To receive updates when new events or blog entries are posted, just go to the top of the screen and hover over the little envelope icon to reveal the mailing list signup! Just make sure to check your inbox for a confirmation e-mail with a link that needs to be clicked. For those of you more web savvy, you can also subscribe to her RSS feed to get the latest info via your favorite feed reader.

Here are some simple ways that you can help out Anasma and this site:

  • Check the site, particularly the main page, events page, and blog frequently for updates
  • Comment on her events and blog entries
  • Subscribe to receive e-mail updates (at the top of the screen)
  • Post links back to her site in appropriate and visible places, such as: online forums and social networks like Facebook, Bhuz, Twitter, and other social networks.

There’s a good chance you won’t hear from me again since Anasma will be taking over the show, but if you need me, you can find me over at my site DreamStar Studios. It’s not quite as epix as this site, but it has it’s own unique charm… and will hopefully be getting it’s own makeover soon :)

Best wishes to everyone, and to all of you bellydancers out there, dance like no one’s watching! I know that there will come a day when many people worldwide will be familiar with the name Anasma, she is one of my personal favorite performers, and her art has never failed to amaze me when I’ve seen her perform! Not only that, she is also a sincere and patient person and one of my favorite clients of all time!
