7 WEEKS choreography series with a performance opportunity!!
Learn a full advanced beginner choreography over 7 weeks (Sundays from 4 to 5.30 pm) with Anasma and Sandralis. You will get to perform it at the Piel Canela Bellydance Practica on November 6th !!

Bellydance Choreography and stage Expression
Level 1
Advanced Beginner Technique and choreography |
"Bellydance Intro Level" (see schedule)
This is a class for beginner or for students who want to have a slow breakdown of isolations. Dancers of any background are welcome.
The technique is based on the American breakdown of the Traditional Egyptian "Raks Sharqi".
The aim is to teach dancers the basic vocabulary of bellydance. We will explore and learn who to isolate different body parts: head, arms, chest, hips, by applying different shapes to them: Lines (squares, rectangles, diamonds), Circle, Figure eights (eights and undulations), shimmies.
This class starts by a warm-up including stretching and toning.
The following section is designed to develop body awareness and control.
Posture and arm carriage, isolations are apprehended in the center and across the floor. Each week, new elements are introduced and put together with priorly explored movements (during the session) to compose short combinations.
The course is based on 6 to 8 weeks. Drop ins are welcome.
"Bellydance Level 1" (see schedule)
This class is an advanced beginner Bellydance class.
It is based on the American breakdown of the Traditional Egyptian "Raks Sharqi".
The aim is to give dancers a strong and clean technical foundation and a possibility to express themselves through this vocabulary of movement.
This class starts by a warm-up including stretching and toning.
The following section focuses on coordination and simple layers while introducing more complex isolations. Movements will be apprehended in the center and across the floor.
Each week, new elements are introduced and put together with movements explored previously to compose more complex combinations.
The class finishes with exploration exercises allowing dancers to assemble creatively the Bellydance vocabulary they have learned.
The course is based on 6 to 8 weeks. Drop ins are welcome. It is required to master the Intro Level isolations.
"Bellydance Level 2" (see schedule)
This class is an intermediate Bellydance class. It is inspired by the American Technique and with focus more on the Traditional Egyptian "Raks Sharqi".
The aim is for dancers to learn intermediate material, manipulate props and be more creative by developping their musicality, and expression through movement.
This class starts by a warm-up including stretching and toning.
The following section involves more challenging steps, layering and combinations, education about Arabic Music and Middle eastern rhythms, usage of different props (on rotation): Zills/ veils/fans/ canes... see the current schedule)
Each week, new elements are introduced and put together with movements explored previously to compose longer or more challenging combinations.
The class finishes with exploration exercises allowing dancers to improvise, discover and follow their intuitive movement.
The course is based on 6 to 8 weeks. Drop ins are welcome.
"Bellydance Practica"
Come jam out on Arabic musics, from classical and folkloric to Arabic pop and electronic. This is the time to practice what you have learned in bellydance classes, to improvise, to simply enjoy the music while discovering another culture. We will learn a couple Middle eastern rythms and do a couple group games! Feel free to prepare and present a solo piece.
The group chreography learned during the 8 week- series will also be performed so bring you friends and family so that they can see you dance.
Open to dancers of all levels and backgrounds.

Learn a full advanced beginner choreography over 8 weeks with Anasma and Sandralis. The week classes are focussing on Technique, combinations.The series offer a followed work with choreography, staging , performance coaching.
